The Market Place Boulevard Extension is open to Bald Ridge Marina.  If like me, you try to avoid the intersection of State Route 20 and GA 400, it may be time to change our thinking.  With the extension being opened, the Bald Ridge Marina interchange is accessible from the shopping district, so the traffic at 20 & 400 should be less.  Plus, the traffic on Route 9 from 20 to downtown Cumming will hopefully be reduced.  BUT, I’m not in any hurry to find out.  If you’re up that way, please let us all know the new, best directions to get to downtown Cumming and points beyond.

  1. You *can* take Market Place down to Bald Ridge, but when you turn left to head to downtown Cumming, you still have a nasty intersection to traverse. I suspect traffic will still be less going the back way until the news gets out about the new “back” way.
